CROWN SYDNEY HOTEL RESORT VISION

The overriding objective of the Crown Sydney Hotel Resort is to introduce a landmark waterfront building to Sydney that is timeless and iconic in nature. A world-class six-star hotel at Barangaroo will become an architectural icon and recognised globally. Crown Sydney will help the city of Sydney to capitalise on the growth in Asian tourism, particularly luxury focused tourists from China. 

Crown Sydney has been designed to create a unique opportunity for tourists, local residents and workers to experience Barangaroo’s cultural amenities and public parklands. The design of the hotel resort will enhance visitor experience by protecting the public domain and integrating world-class restaurants, cafes, bars, retail and leisure facilities and becoming a focal point for the western edge of the city for the enjoyment and usage of tourists and Sydneysiders alike.

To realise this vision Crown Resorts prepared and submitted a proposal to design, build and operate a world-class hotel at Barangaroo South. The proposal was followed by the three stage assessment process and received final approval from the New South Wales Government in 2013.
